Legacy Childrens Home “A Place to Call Home”

Legacy Children’s Group Ltd is a specialist residential care provider supporting looked-after children with mild to moderate learning disabilities (LD) across the UK. We deliver an integrated model of therapeutic residential care and education, addressing a critical gap in the market for holistic, specialist LD services.
Our homes are intentionally small, nurturing, and therapeutic—designed to help children heal from trauma, develop confidence and skills, and move toward positive, independent futures.

ABOUT US

Legacy Children’s Group Ltd is a family-run organisation dedicated to providing safe, nurturing,trauma-informed homes where children can heal, grow, and build brighter futures. We combine compassion, structure, and evidence-based therapeutic care to support children with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Legacy Children’s Group was founded with a clear purpose, to raise the standard of care for looked-after children in the UK.

We believe children who have experienced trauma deserve more than accommodation— they deserve understanding, stability, and the right support to thrive. Our organisation is built on strong values, professional care standards, and a deep commitment to positive outcomes for children and young people. Our first home, True Vines, launches in Rochester, Kent (202c).

Our Approach

Transforming Lives Through Integrated, Specialist Care

At Legacy Children’s Group, we believe children with learning disabilities who have experienced trauma deserve more than a placement—they deserve a home where they can heal, learn, and thrive. When care and education work together within a nurturing, therapeutic environment, meaningful transformation becomes possible.

Specialist Learning Disability Expertise

We don’t simply accommodate learning disabilities—we work with and celebrate them. Our homes are purpose-built and staffed by professionals trained specifically in mild to moderate learning disabilities, ensuring that every interaction supports each child’s learning style, communication needs, and pace of development.

Trauma-Informed Care at Our Core

Many of the children we support have experienced significant adversity. Our traumainformed approach prioritises emotional safety, consistency, and understanding. We look beyond behaviour to understand underlying needs, responding with empathy, patience, and therapeutic skill.

Integrated Care and Education

Legacy Children’s Group delivers a truly integrated model where care and education operate as one system. By removing fragmented transitions, children experience consistent support across therapeutic sessions, education, daily routines, and relationships—maximising stability and progress.

Personalised Pathways to Independence

Every child receives a bespoke care and development plan shaped around their strengths, challenges, and aspirations. Our support builds resilience, confidence, life skills, and emotional regulation—preparing young people for meaningful and independent adult lives.

Small-Scale, High-Impact Care

With just 3–4 placements per home, we create genuine family-style environments where children are known, valued, and supported as individuals—not numbers.

Healing Through Relationships

Strong relationships are central to healing. Each child is supported by a dedicated key worker who advocates for them, celebrates progress, and provides consistent emotional support—helping rebuild trust, attachment, and belonging.

Evidence-Based and Outcome-Focused

Our practice is grounded in proven therapeutic models including attachment theory, sensory regulation, life story work, and positive behaviour support. Success is measured through improved wellbeing, confidence, learning engagement, and longterm outcomes.

Our Values

These values guide every interaction and decision we make.
